We welcome you and your cats!

Dr. Lori L Coughlin (posing here with her own kitty Watson) and her new kitten Mia pictured below. The quilt at the bottom was created by my aunt Keo Teghtmeyer and cousin Denise Witte as a gift to the practice.

Dr. Pam Cuevas has just recently joined the practice. Come by soon to see her amazing photos of the large cats she has worked on!

Dr. Lori Coughlin is the owner of The Cat Practice, which she took over in April 2007. Dr Lori was graduated from Kansas State Veterinary College in 1993 and worked at Oak Knoll Animal Hospital in Moline, IL, from 1993-1995, and at The Cat Practice with Dr. Malin from 1995-1998. She was an associate vet at Arlington Cat Clinic until purchasing The Cat Practice. She is excited to be back with her Cat Practice family and friends and is enjoying seeing her clients and updating the look of the clinic.

She has been married to her husband Mike since 1995, and they live close by with their cats and a large aquarium of African cichlids. They enjoy travel, shopping, and fine dining. Dr. Lori is also a belly dancer and enjoys performing with her friends in the troupe Smoke

Dr. Pam Cuevas also went to the Kansas State Veterinary College, graduating 2 years after Dr. Lori in 1995.  Since then she has practiced in Houston, TX; Denver, CO; and Chapel Hill, NC due to the career of her husband, Bruce, who does cancer research.  She became interested in feline medicine in Denver and worked for the Denver Cat Hospitals for the four years that she spent in Colorado.  While in North Carolina, Dr. Pam became involved in caring for the big cats of the Conservators Center Inc., a sanctuary for large carnivores.  While working with CCI she did surgery on three lions, three tigers, and one leopard.   Dr. Pam also was involved in the management of a lion’s inflammatory bowel disease and a leopard’s allergies and ringworm.

At home she lives with her husband and teenage son with one remaining cat named Stripe.  Stripe joined the family in the summer of 1993 when Manhattan, KS flooded and she was rescued by the then 4 year old Daniel.  Stripe has been the queen of the house since, outliving her younger housemates BanSidhe (1995-2008) and Biscuit (1997-2004).
