We welcome you and your cats!

Did you know..............

..... your cat could be sick and you might not know?

Cats by nature are normally quiet and subtle communicators, unless they are angry of course. This means that differentiating between a healthy cat and a sick cat is often difficult for cat owners, especially in the early stages of disease. At The Cat Practice many cats are brought to us long after illness first struck, not because their owners were neglectful but simply because they weren't aware of the subtle signs of disease their cats were showing. Had we been able help them sooner, many of these cats would have had a chance to recover something approaching a normal healthy condition and lived longer too.

For more information on the 10 subtle signs of sickness cats display, please visit The Great Cat Watch, for Wellness Sake website. The site is a great resource if you want to try and tell if your cat is sick or not as well to educate you in general about illness in cats.

We cannot stress enough, how important physical exams are for your cat. If your cat is under five years, he/she should be examined at least once yearly. For cats five years and over, twice yearly physical exams with appropriate diagnostic screening is the standard of care in this day of excellent feline veterinary care.

If your cat isn't running around as she used to, consider a Golden
Years check up, recommended for cats 5 years and older.
